Promess Introduces Pc-PRO Complete Solution for Sophisticated Multi-Channel Assembly Monitoring and Test Applications
BRIGHTON, MICHIGAN, June 5, 2006 - Promess, Inc. has introduced a new multi-channel monitoring and test system for assembly operations that provides a complete solution including multi-channel non-synchronous monitoring, integral data acquisition, appropriate sensors, data point storage, software, and the ability to monitor multiple windows.
The new Pc-PRO system can utilize a variety of different sensors, and can monitor processes including force, position, torque, pressure, and air or fluid flows. The standard configuration includes a shop floor rated industrial enclosure, a mini-keyboard with trackball, and a 12.1" color TFT-LCD touch screen.
Intended for in-process quality verification applications, the Pc-PRO offers advanced data analysis capabilities including signature monitoring, curve analysis, an integrated programming language with math functions, and the ability to handle an unlimited number of gauging points. Typical sensor inputs include force versus position, torque versus angle, and virtually any other combination of position, force, pressure, torque, or flow.
Inputs are handled via PRO Main Module boards, each of which is able to accommodate two high-speed, 24-bit analog signals, one encoder input, or four digital inputs. Each PRO Main Module has four digital outputs. The basic Pc-PRO unit has four slots for PRO Main Module boards, and expansion chassis are also available to increase the number.
The Pc-PRO uses "signature analysis" technology to monitor assembly operations. This technique compares real-time sensor inputs from an assembly operation to the values obtained from a known-good master that has been "taught-in" to the system. Pc-PRO software makes the comparison and generates a pass/fail output that also flags the attribute that varies from the "taught-in" master values for analysis and correction.
Standard outputs include an RS232 Serial Port, a USB port, and a 10/100 Base-T RJ45 Ethernet connector. Optional Profibus and CANopen fieldbus interfaces are also available. Other standard features include a defined database to support multiple part applications, data export functions, automatic sensor calibration, easy-to-use programming and interface software, and onboard diagnostics for setup and troubleshooting. Promess also provides installation support and assistance in sensor selection for Pc-PRO applications.
