August 1, 2006 - Flat panel displays are available in 32, 42, and 47 in. and feature VOI optical touch screen technology that uses optical scanners instead of surface coatings to ensure crystal clear image. Optical Touch Technology is Coming to the Big Screen!

VarTech Offers Optical Imaging Touch Screens for Large Screen Flat Panel Displays

June 19, 2006

VarTech Systems' high-resolution large screen displays coupled with it's new optical touch screen technology called VOI will turn any kiosk or sales meeting into a dazzling interactive presentation. VOI is the most efficient and feature laden touch screen technology on the market. It is now available for VarTech's 32", 42" and 47" size LCD displays in their renowned DiamondVue display series.

Using VOI's optical scanners instead of surface coatings ensures a crystal clear image. On the flip side, if a display gets dirty or scratched from usage it will not affect the touch screen performance. Displays using VOI can also be easily sealed for resistance to dirt, dust and moisture without affecting the touch screen, making them ideal for demanding public environments.

VarTech's optical imaging touch technology provides touch sensitivity to the entire screen, corners included, and accuracy is guaranteed. Any method can be used to touch the screen such as a finger, a gloved hand or any pointer. Only a light touch is required because no sensors are being touched but rather an optical plane is being broken. Also VOI requires only one calibration because there is no drift with optical imaging technology.

VarTech's VOI touch screen system is modular so that component parts can be conveniently replaced in the event of failure or damage. Another convenience is the USB Plug-and-Play interface that requires no special software.

Available functions include two-touch capability (reading two touch points at one time), middle mouse-key scrolling, object size recognition and diagnostic utilities.
