New P&S Rotary Dimmers Offer Better Dimming Ranges and Superior Heat Management

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (June 15, 2006) - Pass & Seymour/Legrand (P&S), a leading manufacturer of electrical wiring devices and home systems, announced its new, expanded line of Rotary Dimmers today. With exceptional performance features, shallower depth and a new, contemporary look, the Dimmers couple with other P&S Residential products, offering substantial benefits to electrical contractors and distributors.

The expanded product line includes a new Dial on/off 600W Dimmer, which activates simply by rotating the knob, and new Pre-set 1000W Single Pole and 3-way Dimmers, which turn on when the knob is pushed in. The Dimmers feature 104V dimming ranges and offer excellent heat management, with no de-rating required on 600W versions.
The Dimmers are available in new color-lighted options for easy location in the dark. Colors include light almond, ivory and white. At 1.24 inches deep, they're shallower than competing products.

"These Dimmers are smart buys, because everyone wins - distributors, contractors and homeowners alike," said Nancy Santana-Pedersen, Product Manager at P&S. "Distributors will appreciate a more complete rotary dimmer product line, compatibility with other P&S devices and P&S's exceptional service. The shallower depth will leave more room in the box, making installation easy for contractors, and better heat management allows the Dimmers to suit more lighting loads. Plus, homeowners will like the contemporary knob with its smooth, subtle curves."

The Dimmers come in 600W and 1000W versions with pre-set and lighted options for each. Replacement knobs, interchangeable with old Dimmers, are also available.
