Barrier Stops Accidents at the Dock's Edge

(Mequon, WI) - It's a common industrial occurrence - a heavy lift truck operating in a confined space with an open dock door, relatively close to the dock edge. That's the scene dealt with at many docks with risks for people, equipment and the building itself. Introducing the solution - the APS Dock Impact Barrier.

The new APS Dock Impact Barrier is built to stop a 10,000 lb load moving at 4 mph. Having this proven safety product on the dock helps reduce the occurrence of accidents resulting from fork trucks, pallet jacks, and pedestrians falling off the dock when the overhead door is open. It also protects loads, door panels and door tracks.

Featuring heavy construction, the APS Dock Barrier's lower impact traffic-stopping barrier bar is constructed of 9/16"-thick steel cable inside a flexible fiberglass rail, which latches securely into place. Highly visible yellow nylon webbing provides an additional visual barrier at the dock for distracted, hurried drivers.

The unit is easy to install, operate and maintain. The new APS Dock Impact Barrier is manually operated, easily performed by a single dock attendant using just one hand in only seconds.

When dock use is required, the APS Dock Impact Barrier is easily opened by releasing the convenient foot-operated latch and lifting the gate into an upright position with very little effort. The barrier bar completely clears the doorway for unimpeded traffic access.

APS Resource is the leader in warehouse and loading dock aftermarket products. APS Resource has a variety of service parts for the major dockleveler and restraint manufacturers, as well as universal parts to service virtually all dockleveler brands.
