NATICK, Mass., June 6 -- Boston Scientific Corporation (NYSE:BSX) today announced that it has received FDA clearance to launch its Sterling(TM) Monorail(R) and Over-the-Wire Balloon Dilatation Catheter in the United States. The balloon catheters are available in a broad range of sizes, offering interventionalists superb clinical versatility. Both balloon catheter platforms are engineered for use in the renal and lower extremity arteries, as well as in dialysis fistula. In addition, the Sterling(TM) Monorail(R) Catheter received a specific indication for use in the carotid arteries as both a pre- and post-dilatation balloon.
The Sterling Balloon Dilatation Catheter sets a new standard in peripheral angioplasty with its ultra-low profile balloon (4 French), designed to meet the challenges of the peripheral vasculature.
