Suited for controlling AC brushless and DC brush motors, XSJ series Micro Xenus amps are compatible with various command signal sources and accept step-and-direction commands. They run on 100 to 240 Vac, 50/60 Hz and come in 3 models that cover 2, 6, and 10 A peak power ranges. Single amp can be used for various stand-alone and network-controlled applications. Series offers several motion control modes and works with feedback from position, velocity, and commutation signal sources.

High power density Micro Xenus amplifier features seven operating modes - from CANopen networking through stand-alone indexing operation
Canton, MA, June 2, 2006---Copley Controls announces a compact but very powerful panel-mounting Micro Xenus servo amplifier family for controlling AC brushless and DC brush motors. Designated the XSJ family, Micro Xenus amplifiers provide an unprecedented range of motion control modes. Control versatility enables users to stock a single amplifier type for many different stand-alone and network-controlled applications.
Specifically, XSJ servo amplifiers are compatible with the following command signal sources. Multi-axis Canopen and DeviceNet networking control; ASCII operation; ±10V position/velocity/torque commands; PWM velocity/torque control; master encoder for gearing and camming; and digital input commands to initiate predetermined motion sequences. The amplifier accepts step-and-direction commands, enabling users to upgrade from stepper to servo drive.
Compatibility with different motion control sources enables the amplifier to cover a comparably wide range of motion control modes - hence application versatility - including indexer, point-to-point, PVT, and electronic camming and gearing.
Micro Xenus amplifiers work with feedback from position, velocity, and commutation signal sources. Motors developing digital quad A/B encoder signals, analog sin/cos encoder signals, and digital halls all work with amplifier family. The amplifiers also develop encoder output signals for master computer or PLC control.
Micro Xenus amplifiers add further user ease and application simplification by running on global voltage supplies from 100V to 240V 50/60 Hz. Three XJS models cover the peak power ranges of 2A, 6A and 10A. Continuous output is half the peak. Regenerative braking energy is dissipated internally. Amplifier dimensions are 5 x 3.5 x 2.1inches (126 x 90 x 53 mm).
Applications-Micro Xenus amplifiers are designed for fast-operating automation systems in industrial fabrication, assembly, materials handling, and packaging. The amplifier also meets the position control needs in medical automation, laboratory instrumentation, semiconductor fabrication, and other sophisticated installations.
