June 28, 2006 - Providing way for users to repair test leads or build custom patch cords, 4 mm FlexPlug(TM) Model CT3276-# allows for solderless wire connection using setscrew attachment method. Non-sheathed unit is rated at 36 A and 33 Vac/70 Vdc per IEC61010-031, although it can be used up to 1,200 Vac/dc if not handheld. Fully compliant with RoHS specification, plug comes in black, red, yellow, green, blue, and white.

New Solderless 'Do It Yourself' 4mm Banana Plug Features Santoprene(TM) Insulator Body


YORBA LINDA, Calif., April 20, 2006 ... Cal Test Electronics, a premier supplier of over 3,000 standard and custom electronic test accessories, today announced the addition of the Model CT3276-# FlexPlug(TM), a low priced solderless 4mm Safety Banana Plug, to its growing family of "Do It Yourself' (DIY) Safety Plugs and Jacks. Priced as low as $1.70, the Model 3276-# FlexPlug provides a fast, easy way for a "Do it Yourselfer" to repair test leads or build custom patch cords.

The Model 3276-# FlexPlug is a standard 4mm non-sheathed banana plug with a slim line soft flexible insulator body. The banana plug allows for a solderless wire connection using Cal Test's unique setscrew attachment method. A user would slide their wire through the insulator, strip and assemble to the banana plug using a 1.5mm Allen Wrench (Reference Model CT2919) then press the insulator and plug together.

The insulator is molded of soft, compliant Santoprene(TM) for a comfortable grip and wire bend flexibility during use. The Model 3276-# FlexPlug is ideal for the user who wants a quick assembling plug that is small in diameter, feels good in one's hand, and is durable for a long life. The plug is rated at 36A and 33VAC/70VDC per IEC61010-031, although it can be used up to l,200VAC/DC if not handheld. It is also in full compliance with RoHS specification for hazardous materials.

The Model 3276-# FlexPlug is available in six (6) colors: -0 Black, -2 Red, -4 yellow, -5 Green, -6 Blue, and -9 White. When ordering, replace the -# in the model number with the color code number above. The unique internal design of the plug allows for the gripping of the test lead wire's insulation, which is a requirement of IEC61010-031 and to insure a long useful life its spring contact made of beryllium copper alloy material.

Priced as low as $1.60, the Model 3276-# FlexPlug plug comes with Cal Test Electronics' one-year warranty and is available for immediate delivery.
