Blow Molded Bottles provide thermal product protection.

June 27, 2006 - Thermal Control Panels (TCPs) are blow molded bottles with tabs that allow them to be interconnected in various ways. Inside TCPs, there are formulations of chemicals whose phase change temperature enables optimal storage of temperature-sensitive product. Phase change material can be placed in direct contact with temperature sensitive product because there is no risk of freezing. This reduces final package size because no dunnage or air gaps are required.

New Thermal Control Protection Panel from TCP Reliable

Winner of the 2004 Worldstar Award, the TCP (Thermal Control Panel) is a new approach to thermal product protection. The panels are blow molded bottles with tabs that allow them to be interconnected in a variety of ways. Inside the TCP's are special formulations of chemicals whose phase change temperature are at the optimum storage temperature of the temperature-sensitve product. /if the tempertature-sensitive product must be maintained within 2-8 degrees C, the TCP is filled with a material that undergoes phase change at 5 degrees C. This is exactly in the middle of the desired range. Because it can hold 5 degrees C longer than a conventional phase change material (which undergoes phase change at 0 degrees C, and has very little heat capacity at 5 degrees C), significantly less material is required reducing weight and freight costs. In addition, the phase change material can be placed in direct contact with the temperature sensitive product because there is no risk of freezing. This reduces the size of the final package because no dunnage or air gaps are required.
