Severn Trent Services Introduces an ASME Certified Gas Filter
The Model 22255 gas filter is designed to remove gas line impurities that occur in pressurized chlorine, sulfur dioxide and ammonia gas pipeline systems
FORT WASHINGTON, Pa. - May 24, 2006 - Severn Trent Services has introduced the Model 22255 gas filter, a filter that conforms to requirements of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) for lethal gas service as well as the Chlorine Institute recommendations for Class IV gas service for materials of construction and operating pressures. The new filter is designed to remove gas line impurities that occur in pressurized chlorine, sulfur dioxide and ammonia gas pipeline systems.
The Model 22255 gas filter, which has an operating pressure of 666 psig, is recommended for pressurized gas systems supplied by manifolded ton containers, rail cars, bulk gas supply tanks or systems that are downstream of a vaporizer prior to gas line regulators. The filter is directly mounted to a gas pipeline. The body is fabricated of ASTM carbon steel with a Class 300 ASTM forged steel large tongue cover flange. A removable Type 316 stainless steel filter basket containing three filter pads is mounted within the filter body to trap the pipeline impurities before they reach the feed equipment. Any liquefied impurities that have passed through the piping system are trapped by an open volume below the filter.
