LI-COR Biosciences Introduces New Infrared Reagents for its Odyssey Infrared Imaging System
LINCOLN, Neb., May 17 -- LI-COR Biosciences introduces new IRDye(R) Western kits for the Odyssey(R) System. The kits feature IRDye 800 CW and IRDye 680 labeled secondary antibodies, Odyssey Blocking Buffer, and PVDF membranes.
LI-COR is also introducing six new IRDye(R) 700 oligos for gel shift assays (EMSA's) and a new EMSA Buffer kit optimized for use on the company's Odyssey(R) Infrared Imaging System. The infrared-dye based oligos offer distinct advantages over radioisotopes including long-term dye stability, rapid detection, and the flexibility to extend gel run times.
The Odyssey Infrared Imaging System is known for providing researchers quantitative Western data due to Odyssey's unique use of two infrared channels for direct fluorescence detection with high sensitivity and low biological background fluorescence. The superior signal-to-noise ratio produced using near infrared dyes produces results not possible with traditional visible fluorescence-based imaging systems.
LI-COR's IRDye(R) reagents provide a solution for protein analysis that includes Westerns, In-cell Western assays, in vivo imaging, imaging whole tumors, and in situ analysis and characterization of tumor sections.
LI-COR Biosciences is a leader in the design, manufacture, and marketing of integrated infrared instrument systems and reagents for biotechnology and drug discovery research. Founded in 1971, the privately held company is based in Lincoln, Nebraska, with subsidiaries in Germany and the United Kingdom. LI-COR systems are used in over 100 countries and are supported by a global network of offices and distributors.
Additional information on the Odyssey System is available from the LI-COR web site (www.licor.com).
