June 20, 2006 - Suited for home offices, schools, and businesses that require sharing of multiple printers, RangeBooster G(TM) DPR-1260 is compatible with variety of USB multifunction printers and is backward compatible with USB 1.1/1.0 printers. Users plug USB printer into 1 of 4 ports and run automatic configuration wizard to start printing and scanning over wireless network. DPR-1260 can also be used to provide wireless connectivity to any Ethernet-enabled device.

D-Link's RangeBooster G Wireless Print Server Proven Compatible With More Than 100 Different Printer Models

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., May 16 / -- D-Link, the end-to-end networking solutions provider for consumers and business, is now shipping the new RangeBooster G(TM) Multifunction Printer Server, the industry's first multi-port wireless print server that supports multifunction printers.

The new D-Link RangeBooster G Multifunction Printer Server (DPR-1260) is designed to be the ideal network printing solution for home offices, schools and other businesses that require sharing multiple printers. Users simply plug a USB printer into one of the four ports and run the automatic configuration wizard to start printing and scanning over a wireless network. The D-Link DPR-1260 can also be used to provide wireless connectivity to any Ethernet-enabled device, such as a computer or Network-Attached Storage (NAS).

"Consumers and small business owners are no longer satisfied with sharing network resources through host computers," according to D-Link Associate Vice President of Technology Brian Larsen. "Our multifunction print server is the first of its kind to seamlessly connect printers and other sharable resources directly to the network for instant access by each user on the network."

When attaching multiple devices, the Quick Installation Wizard included with the D-Link DPR-1260 takes all the work out of setting up the print server and configuring the attached printers. Multiple ports give users the option of adding multiple printers and multifunction printers to the network. D-Link's RangeBooster G Wi-Fi technology improves wireless performance, reducing the time required to send print jobs to the print server.

Tested with more than 100 different printer models, the D-Link DPR-1260 offers class-leading device compatibility. Using the web-based interface, each user on the network can easily scan documents, photos and more directly to their computers. This print server is compatible with a wide range of USB multifunction printers and is backward compatible with USB 1.1/1.0 printers. The Ethernet port on the D-Link DPR-1260 can be used as a wireless bridge, providing wireless connectivity for any Ethernet-enabled device, such as a computer or Network-Attached Storage (NAS) to the wireless network. The D-Link DPR-1260 also supports Microsoft(C) Windows Connect Now (WCN) for enhanced wireless security.
