Radar Level Transmitter measures bulk solids.
May 26, 2006 -
Featuring 2-wire, loop-powered design, Model MT5200 uses concentric waveguide to direct radar beam, alleviating divergence problems and echoes in tanks with narrow openings. Unaffected by dust or feed flow, unit accurately measures materials with dielectric constants as low as 1.3 and bulk densities up to 50 lb/ft³. Integrated display enables viewing of waveform screens, while setup menu supports wide range of languages. Transmitter operates at up to 400°F and 1,500 psi.
Features Integrated Graphic Display with Waveform Screen
Prairieville, LA (April 24, 2006) - K-TEK, a leading manufacturer of state-of-the-art instrumentation for liquid level measurement now celebrating 30 years of manufacturing excellence, today announced the MT5200 Bulk Solids Level Transmitter, the newest transmitter in the MT5000 Series of Guided Wave Radar Transmitters. The MT5200 is designed for level measurement in challenging bulk solids applications. A concentric waveguide directs the radar beam, alleviating divergence problems and echoes in tanks
with narrow openings. Unaffected by dust or feed flow the MT5200 accurately measures materials with dielectric constants as low as 1.3. An integrated graphic display provides easy viewing of waveform screens and the user-friendly setup menu supports a wide range of languages for quick setup in virtually any region of the world. The two-wire, loop powered design reduces wiring costs and provides a strong signal over distances.
"Reliability and accuracy are crucial as plants push to drive down costs and improve product quality," said Robert Hotard, Product Manager for Magnetostrictive and Radar products at K-TEK. "The MT5200 guided wave radar transmitter takes the measurements that are needed, when they are needed, even in the most complex situations."
Accuracy in Adverse Conditions
The MT5200 transmitter has no moving parts and, therefore, requires virtually no maintenance. It takes accurate level measurements in a wide range of application environments, including dusty environments, and high operating temperatures and pressures, up to 400°F (204°C) or 1500 psi (103 bar). The system can also handle materials with dielectric constants as low as 1.3 and bulk densities up to 50 lb/ft3.
Integrated Waveform Display
The MT5200 is a compact and modular unit featuring an all-digital design and built-in linearization functions. Setup and troubleshooting are quick and simple. An integrated graphic display details measurements on an easy-to-read waveform screen. A choice of languages is offered, including English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, and Mandarin.
The standard housing is powder-coated aluminum with optional stainless steel for corrosive environments. Wiring and terminations are isolated from sensors and internal electronics using a dual-compartment design. The system features a 2-wire, loop powered design standard with multiple output options, including 4-20 mA, HART, Foundation Fieldbus, and MODBUS.
Pricing
K-TEK's MT5200 guided wave radar level transmitter is available for immediate shipment. Prices start at $1600.
