ARIO Data Establishes Pioneer Position in Storage Blade Market with Industry's Highest Capacity Storage Arrays

SAN JOSE, Calif., March 27 / -- ARIO Data Networks, a leading storage solution provider, today unveiled the first products in its new Capacity Storage Array family of SATA- and SAS-based network storage solutions. With this family, ARIO introduces StorBlade(TM), the unique concept of enabling disk storage to be easily managed and scaled with a single enclosure. Capable of storing 26 TB, the Capacity Storage Array family leads the market for the highest capacity and density footprint for a single enclosure array. ARIO leverages expertise from its SANARIO(R) RAID controllers and JBOD SATA/SAS connectivity products to offer its customers affordable, high capacity, high performance RAID-protected storage solutions.

"Our Capacity Storage Array family evolved from our years of experience in helping our customers build today's top storage subsystems," said Steve VonderHaar, senior vice president of sales and marketing for ARIO Data. "The CSA family provides customers a new and fully-integrated method of RAID protection, while realizing the cost benefits of SATA and SAS."

"In the storage industry, one hears about new and novel ideas all the time. But then you see a product like CSA and you know there is no dearth of creativity in this industry. I am blown away by the density and capacity ARIO has been able to achieve," said Arun Taneja, founder and consulting analyst of Hopkinton, Mass.-based Taneja Group. "They have overcome the largest roadblocks for blade technology to offer OEMs a unique advantage -- storage on a blade."

The CSA Family of Products Delivers Performance, Flexibility and Manageability in a Highly-scalable Configuration

The CSA family of products offers a unique design to greatly improve the manageability and flexibility of the storage system. Each ARIO StorBlade can support up to 4 drive carriers, providing high-density storage configurations. Unlike with other storage systems, ARIO's CSA Family array allows access to the blades and hence, disks from the front of the rack, without having to power-down the system or dismantling the enclosure.

Additionally, each StorBlade is serviceable down to the individual disk drive level, powered by ARIO's SafeBlade(TM) software, enabled on the embedded SANARIO RAID controller. The CSA family leverages the SANARIO RAID controllers to offer enterprise-level performance, utilizing the latest interface connectivity and high availability option, supporting RAID levels 0, 1, 3, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60.

The CSA Family will begin shipping mid-year. For more detailed information contact sales@ariodata.com.
