Jive Software Introduces Spark Fastpath and Releases Jive Forums 5.0

Adds Deeper Expert-Location Functions to Community and Real-Time Software

PORTLAND, Ore., March 14 / -- Jive Software, Inc., a leading provider of Java-based Enterprise collaboration and community software, today announced the releases of Jive Forums 5.0 and Spark Fastpath 3.0. Both announcements were accompanied by new user-based pricing across all products.

The new release of Jive Forums, the leading Enterprise Forum software with over 1,300 customers, offers deeper features to identify subject-matter experts and customize the user experience. "Our latest release makes it easy for community members to identify their areas of expertise and for community managers to customize the look and feel for different sub-communities," said Dave Hersh, CEO of Jive Software. Other new features include expert notification and question escalation as well as integrated real-time communication features. "New user-based pricing also allows companies of any size to take advantage of the enterprise architecture," said Hersh.

Jive Software also released Spark Fastpath 3.0, a commercial Enterprise Instant Messaging product that finds the best person to answer high-priority requests in real-time. With Spark Fastpath, administrators can create "workgroups" that appear in the buddy list. When an instant message is sent to that group, it is automatically routed to the best person. "Now employees, customers or partners can get answers right away when they're not sure who to ask," said Matt Tucker, CTO. "Spark Fastpath extends our free XMPP-based Spark client and Open Source Wildfire EIM server to provide a powerful, low-cost way to instantly add IM routing and queuing to your business," said Tucker. Spark Fastpath (formerly called Live Assistant) uses routing logic to find the best person based on their expertise and presence-level. Message recipients can elect to accept the message, re-route it, start a group chat conversation and even co-browse web pages. "Sometimes instant messaging isn't very instant," said Sam Lawrence, VP Marketing, "and when a customer or co-worker has a time- sensitive issue, you need to respond quickly. Spark Fastpath does the heavy lifting of finding the right person and giving them the tools to resolve the issue." Spark Fastpath is available for a special one-time introductory price of $95 a user.
