Metrology System measures difficult-to-image features.

April 13, 2006 - Multisensor SmartScope® Flash(TM) 200 benchtop dimensional measurement system integrates through-the-lens laser for non-contact surface contouring. Touch probe, laser, and/or micro-probes are available for complete part characterization. It features 200 x 200 x 150 mm XYZ measurement volume and measures parts of different material, malleability, opacity, and color. Motorized 12x AccuCentric® auto-calibrating zoom lens provides high-resolution optical imaging.

OGP Enhances SmartScope Flash 200 Compact Multisensor Measurement System

Rochester, NY, February 2006 - Optical Gaging Products, Inc. (OGP®) announces enhanced capabilities for its popular SmartScope® Flash(TM) 200 benchtop dimensional measurement system. As a multisensor metrology system, it can be outfitted with a touch probe, laser and/or micro-probes for complete part characterization in a single setup. Tactile probing measures difficult-to-image features, and a new through-the-lens (TTL) laser adds non-contact surface contouring. Feather Probe(TM) and Rainbow Probe(TM) offer micro-probing capability for miniature, delicate, and sensitive components. SmartScope Flash 200 can be configured with the right sensors for almost any application, and can measure parts of virtually any material, malleability, opacity, and color.

This compact system has a 200x200x150 mm XYZ measurement volume, to accommodate a range of parts and fixtures. All stage motion and magnification changes are motor-driven and programmable for fully automatic measurement.

SmartScope Flash 200 excels at video measurement, with features such as patented illumination sources - a unique LED backlight that tracks the optics with no moving parts; SmartRing(TM) surface light with multiple sectors/rings of white LEDs that allow control of light intensity, angle, and direction; a TTL coaxial surface illuminator; and an LED grid projector for accurate video focus on polished, highly reflective parts. Its patented motorized 12x AccuCentric® auto-calibrating zoom lens provides high-resolution optical imaging.

Known for its ease of use, OGP metrology software uses point-and-click tools and provides complete 3D functionality to take full advantage of a multisensing environment. Capabilities may be enhanced with software options that include form fitting, SPC, 3D CAD translation, and custom report writing.
