Makita's New 10" Table Saw with Portable Table Saw Stand Cuts 4x Material in One Pass

March 10, 2006 - La Mirada, Calif. - Makita U.S.A., Inc., manufacturer of high quality industrial power tools and accessories, is proud to announce the launch of a new 10" Table Saw, model 2704 and 10" Table Saw with portable table saw stand, model 2704X1. On the jobsite or in the workshop, Makita's new 10" table saw has a large enough cutting capacity to rip 4x8 sheets of plywood and 4x material in just one pass.

Model 2704 has a powerful 15 AMP motor with 4,800 RPM and has an electric brake to stop the blade in two seconds for maximum productivity. The precision machined table top remains flat and true for out of the box accuracy and Makita's two pole slide system raises and lowers the blade for efficient and smooth adjustments of the blade depth. The angle rule has micro-fine adjustments for accurate cuts at any angle and 3/8" x 3/4" T-slot miter gauge grooves keeps the angle rule secure when cutting wide material. For added support and increased cutting capacity the right extension table allows user to rip 4x8 sheets of plywood. A quick flip cam-locking rip fence and the magnified, easy to read scale is dead-on for fast and easy adjustments. For added convenience, a 13/16" dado head set can be used and complete storage capacity is available to hold most commonly used accessories.

Makita's new 5-position, adjustable table saw stand comes as standard equipment with model 2704X1 or as a separate accessory (194093-8). The hydraulic system allows the user to simply squeeze the release bar for quick and easy adjustments. At its lowest position the maximum height is 10-1/4", at its highest position the maximum height is 24-3/4" and measuring to the table top of model 2704 the maximum height is 38-1/4". The heavy duty design is rugged yet lightweight to support all Makita models (2704, 2703, 2702) and competitive models. Adjustable feet can be used to level the stand for increased stability, large treaded wheels eases jobsite portability and an upright support allows the user to place the table saw and stand in an upright position for better storage.
