New Ceramacoat(TM) 512N Insulates Circuit Breaker Contacts

Valley Cottage, NY - February 24, 2006

SUMMARY

Ceramacoat(TM) 512N, a new high temperature ceramic based, electrically insulating compound, produced by Aremco Products, Inc., is now used to insulate electrical contacts in residential and commercial circuit breakers.

FEATURES

Ceramacoat(TM) 512N is a silica-based ceramic compound ideal for insulating circuit breakers as well as a wide range of high temperature electrical components including heaters, electrical feed-thrus, PTC devices, rheostats, and temperature sensors. Material properties include a temperature resistance of
2400 °F (1316 ºC); dielectric strength of 250 volts per mil; volume resistivity of 109; and excellent moisture and chemical resistance.

Ceramacoat(TM) 512N is a single-part paste that can be easily dispensed thru manual syringes or pressurized dispensing equipment. Set time is 4-6 hours at room temperature followed by curing at 200 °F and 300 °F for 1-2 hours, respectively. Cured material exhibits low shrinkage and low closed porosity. Uncured material can be cleaned up easily with warm water and soap.

Ceramacoat(TM) 512N is available from stock in pint, quart, and containers. For more information about this new, advanced material, please contact Aremco's Sales Engineering Department.
