Pre-Assembled, Leak-Free Tubing Sets Feature New Fitting System to Simplify Instrument Assembly

Boonton, NJ: Pre-assembled Omnifit tubing sets available from Bio-Chem Valve enable instrument manufacturers to simplify product assemblies, eliminate assembly errors, ensure leak-free connections, reduce assembly time, and condense purchasing and inventory management tasks.

Tubing sets made with PTFE tubing in 1/16" and 1/8" O.D. sizes are cut in the appropriate desired lengths and assembled with the new distinctive, permanently attached, color-coded Omni-Lok(TM) fitting system on one or both ends. Combinations of multiple and single tubing sets can be prepared to plumb complete instruments. Multiple tubing sets can be supplied loose or bundled in a polyester mesh wrapping.

The flangeless Omni-Lok Fitting system consists of a robust, glass-filled polypropylene Omni-Lok fitting nut and an Omni-Lok ferrule constructed from PTFE, PEEK(TM) or Tefzel® with a stainless steel lock ring. This fitting system provides a finger-tight seal especially suited for use in solenoid valve ports and other shallow PTFE ports. The permanently attached ferrules and freely spinning fitting nuts are designed to accommodate repeated connect and disconnect to and from ¼" - 28 UNF ports.

An inverted cone option permits a fast, easy, toolless tubing connection where the fitting nut is slid over the tubing and the inverted Tefzel cone is fitted onto the tubing end. The fitting is then screwed into the ports. This option is not available as part of a pre-assembled tubing set.

The robust, colorful glass-filled polypropylene fitting nuts are offered in eight different colors for easy line identification. The compact head, close-packing design makes it easy to assemble in ports that are packed closely side-by-side. The recess in the fitting nut provides space to house the Omni-Lok ferrule within; thereby permitting maximum thread engagement and a more reliable tubing connection. When tightened into the port, the nut does not twist the tubing and allows repeat connect/disconnect attachment.
