LANpoint TIME Labor Data Collection Terminals


Tucson, Arizona. Intelligent Instrumentation, a Texas Instruments company, announces the release of their new time and attendance and labor reporting terminals, LANpoint TIME. This rugged NEMA 12, (IP54), and compact series of time and attendance terminals provides real-time data collection for tracking and reporting employee productivity throughout your enterprise. Configurations are ready for any time and attendance, work-in-process, production reporting, access control, machine monitoring and control, and labor reporting and scheduling project no matter how straightforward or complex. Multiple AutoID interfaces are available such as visible red, infrared, and magnetic stripe slot readers, RFID proximity readers, laser scanners, and biometric fingerprint readers. The LANpoint TIME offers a choice of reduced or QWERTY keyboards, and features an Ethernet 10/100BaseT adapter or optional wireless 802.11b Ethernet for connectivity. Whether you are simply upgrading or installing a new system, the LANpoint TIME series of time and production tracking terminals from Intelligent Instrumentation allows complete flexibility in mixing or matching AutoID interfaces, options, and accessories to meet any application need now and in the future.

Their compact and rugged NEMA 12 (IP54) rated case design is water- and dust- resistant allowing for installation in office or manufacturing environments. The LANpoint TIME terminals run Microsoft's embedded Windows CE.NET operating system, are powered by an Intel XScale processor, have on-board non-volatile storage expandable to 500MB, and include the data collection features, connectivity and scalability to ensure easy installation, deployment and maintenance of your critical labor collection system. Web-enabled system administration tools, a wide range of software programmability, and a full selection of installation, mounting and AutoID add-on accessories and options make for unparalleled ease of implementation and system management to meet any labor data collection and communications need.

Microsoft's embedded Windows CE.NET 4.2 operating system provides a stable and flexible operating system for data collection terminals, programmable automation controllers, and portable enterprise devices. Windows CE.NET features the familiar Windows WIN32 API, allowing developers the convenience of using their existing desktop development skills. Microsoft's Visual Studio.NET and eMbedded Visual C++ development tools are available for creating custom solutions in Visual Basic.NET, Visual C#.NET or eMbedded Visual C++. Standard networking and utility software includes TCP/IP and SNMP. Intelligent Instrumentation's Web-server application, Web Device, provides remote management.

In addition, all popular terminal emulation interfaces are available - VT, HP, IBM5250, and IBM3270.

LANpoint TIME has no moving parts, like CPU fans or hard drives, which can fail in industrial conditions.

All LANpoint TIME terminals feature an Ethernet 10/100BaseT adapter for network connection, and models are also available with wireless 802.11b Ethernet. Standard features include a 2 line x 40 character backlit LCD display, tactile keys, small installation footprint, and three RS-232 ports, which can be used for standard serial I/O such as barcode scanners, scales, calipers, and printers. The PS/2 connector allows use of wedge readers as well as external keyboards. There is even the thoughtful addition of a 3.3V, 5V and 12V power connector for accessories like biometric fingerprint readers, 2D laser scanners and other AutoID devices. A full line of accessories and options is available, from AutoID devices to battery backup packs and wiring installation kits. Optional digital I/O provides eight opto-isolated digital inputs and eight digital outputs. Intelligent Instrumentation provides everything necessary to get the LANpoint TIME terminals installed and running quickly, ensuring a rapid return on investment (ROI).
