Cooper Lighting's Award-Winning HALO Brand Celebrates 50th Anniversary/Introduces New H3 Downlight Series

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga., Feb. 16 / -- Cooper Lighting's industry- leading HALO brand of recessed and track lighting celebrates its 50th anniversary this year and continues to set the industry standard by introducing the HALO H3 Downlight Series.

Cooper Lighting's roots date back to 1956 when the Halo Lighting Company, the pioneer in recessed and track lighting, was founded with the philosophy of manufacturing light fixtures which would be attractive, simple to install and easy to service. From the modest beginnings of a one-room facility manufacturing six product lines, Cooper Lighting has grown to multiple product lines and become an international industry leader today.

HALO continues to be a household name through the decades, receiving numerous industry awards. For the seventh consecutive year, HALO has been named by Builder Magazine as the brand leader in lighting. The Builder 2006 Brand Use Study by Readex Research awarded HALO first place in the lighting categories of Brand Familiarity, Brand Used in Past 2 Years, Brand Used Most, and Quality.

"At the very beginning, 50 years ago, HALO established itself as the industry leader in quality, usage, and innovation in recessed and track lighting," said Tim O'Brien, V.P. Marketing, Cooper Lighting. "Cooper Lighting continues to grow this legacy and create new products that consistently meet the growing demands of the commercial, industrial, and residential lighting markets."

The latest innovation introduced is the new HALO H3 Downlight Series, a 3" aperture downlight family that is ideal for soffits, casework, and niche areas, as well as for general illumination. Previewed at the 2006 International Builders Show in Orlando, Florida by over 100,000 attendees, the series is designed with all the new, patented, innovative features offered by HALO including Got Nail!(TM), Slide-N-Side(TM) III Junction Box, and Pass-N- Thru(TM) Bar Hangers, among many others.

Offering a minimal impact on the ceiling, the small size of the H3 Series compliments existing trim selections from HALO's family of 4", 5", and 6" trims for a cohesive appearance. The series is available in ten trim styles: Adjustable Pinholes, Baffles, Shower Lights, Slots, Cross Blades, Gimbals, and Super Adjustable trims. Multiple designer finishes are available including Satin Nickel (Brush), Antique Copper (Brush), and Tuscan Bronze, as well as Matte White and Black.

The H3 housings are available in both IC/Air-Tite(TM) and Non-IC/Air- Tite(TM) to meet the latest code compliances and maximize energy efficiency. Trims are dual listed for MR-16 low voltage and GU-10 line voltage reflector lamps.
