Gundrilling Drilling Revolutionary "Compound Angle Gundrilling/Milling" System

Monday, February 6, 2006

TBT Division / Nagel Precision Inc. presents the new Gundrilling/Milling-Center
VARIOFLEX MD 30

TBT Division / Nagel Precision Inc. present the new Gundrilling/Milling-Center VARIOFLEX MD 30. Specifically designed for the tool and mold industry, the Drilling/Milling-Center impresses with its large working range and highest machine rigidity in all working directions. Reason is a revolutionary rocking lever system, which TBT has developed in the last year. The machine is the world's first gundrilling machine that allows drilling of compound-angles in only one fixation. With this unique concept, mold makers can significantly reduce their set-up time and operational cost. The machine combines both gundrilling and deep hole drilling with conventional machining (Milling; Counter boring and Threading). With its capacity to drill diameters over 2" the machine is ideal for machining even the largest molds.

Machine specialties:
o Compound drilling of angles.
o Combination of gundrilling and conventional machining in one axis.
o Parallel-Kinematics for optimal flexibility and accuracy and reduction of positioning times.
o Double sided bearings for the milling spindle for increased rigidity.
o Drill spindle can reach virtually any position on a mold, allowing true "3-D machining"
o Automatic changeover between gundrilling and conventional machining is possible.

TBT is the worldwide market leader in the gundrilling technology. Fore almost 40 years and with 5,500 machines delivered, TBT stands for quality, accuracy and reliability. For the North Ameri-can market, the gundrilling machines and tools are manufactured in the TBT Division / Nagel Precision Inc. facility in Ann Arbor, MI. Gundrilling tools are being stocked in industry standard length and diameters and are available for immediate delivery.
