Siemon Launches Fiber Cable in North American Market

WATERTOWN, Conn., Feb. 13 / -- Siemon, a world leader in end- to-end structured cabling systems, announces the addition of Siemon fiber cable to its North American product line. The Siemon fiber cable offering includes 8.3mm singlemode and 50mm multimode fiber in XGLO(TM) 10 Gb/s capable and LightSystem(R) configurations as well as 62.5mm LightSystem varieties. Available in 12 strand counts ranging from 2 to 12 for single-tube construction and 16 to 144 for multi-tube versions, all Siemon fiber cable is offered in both riser and plenum ratings and is ISO and TIA compliant. The cable specifications are designed by Siemon Labs to deliver superior channel performance and are subject to the same rigorous quality control testing and validation as Siemon connectivity products.

The new fiber cable joins Siemon's established line of fiber connectivity and cable management. This comprehensive line includes jumpers, pigtails and field installable connectors in SC, LC, ST and MT-RJ styles; an array of fiber enclosures, fiber managers, adaptors and splicing accessories; work area outlets and termination tools.

"Internationally, we have been successful in selling Siemon fiber for some time to support demand for end-to-end solutions," said Charlie Maynard, Siemon's Fiber Optic Product Manager, "We see great customer and partner benefits in offering that single-vendor model here in North America."

"Siemon is now capable of providing complete end-to-end copper and fiber cabling solutions anywhere on the planet," adds Maynard. All of Siemon's end- to-end systems are covered by the full Siemon system warranty when designed and installed by a Siemon Certified Installer(TM).

As part of Siemon's 10G ip(TM) family, XGLO fiber and connectivity join Siemon's 10G 6A(TM) UTP, F/UTP and Category 7/Class F TERA(R) S/FTP copper products to form the most comprehensive line of 10Gb/s cabling solutions available. Siemon's LightSystem solution is ideal for campus-level installations requiring only gigabit support.
