February 21, 2006 - Designed for POS applications, matrix-style SPOS keyboards offer fully programmable, reconfigurable solution with options such as 3-track magnetic stripe reader and high-resolution touchpad. Products have plug-and-play configuration and function enhancement capabilities via Cherry Tools virtual programming. Compatible with MS WEPOS operating system, 14.2 x 7.8 x 1.5 in. keyboards offer UPOS support for Windows and Linux and have USB 2.0 interface as well as IP54 key fields.

Cherry Introduces Rows & Columns SPOS Keyboards for Grocery and C-Store Applications


Pleasant Prairie, WI - At last week's Marketechnics 2006 Show (Food Marketing Institute) show in San Diego, Cherry Electrical Products announced the expansion of its popular SPOS Keyboard Line to include a variety of rows & column layouts. Suitable for a variety of POS applications such as grocery and convenience stores, these matrix-style SPOS keyboards offer a fully programmable, reconfigurable solution in a compact, affordable package. Available options are a three track magnetic stripe reader and a high resolution touchpad.

Cherry's SPOS keyboards offer plug and play configuration for all common POS features and unique function enhancement via 'Cherry Tools' virtual programming. The 'Cherry Tools' software also allows for quick product set-up and program configuration, including remote installation. Cherry also offers comprehensive UPOS support for Windows and Linux. All Cherry POS keyboards, including the new SPOS product line, are fully compatible with Microsoft's(TM) new WEPOS operating system.

Cherry SPOS keyboards feature a USB 2.0 interface and IP 54 spill- and dust-resistant key fields. They measure 14.2"W X 7.8"H X 1.5"H and come standard with a 6-foot cable. Cherry's SPOS rows & columns keyboards are available through the regular POS distribution channels. Suggested retail prices start at $200.00 for the base versions. In addition to the keyboard, Cherry offers accessory kits and a turnkey customization services.
