Energy Kinetics Introduces TEMAX(TM)Line of High Performance Elastomer Bumpers

NAPERVILLE, IL - Energy Kinetics Inc. (EKI) is introducing a line of high performance elastomer bumpers tested to surpass service life of earlier models by 15%.

"This improvement in durability across our complete line of three distinct versions of load vs. displacement characteristics - plus a line especially for overhead cranes - combines longer life with better economy for OEM and retrofit markets," said Elmer J. Hart, EKI president and director of engineering.

TeMAX(TM) is an acronym for Thermoplastic Energy Absorber MAXimized. Improvements in durability over earlier EKI (and competitive) products comes from alloying virgin Hytrel, enhancing tensile strength, with the added benefit of significantly greater moisture stability, Hart said.

Formulations for all models in the TeMAX line incorporate UV inhibitors to increase product life in outdoor environments. Bumpers are lightweight, compact in size and field-proven to have more energy absorbing capacity per volume and weight than comparable rubber or urethane counterparts...more than twice the energy absorption of urethane bumpers of the same size. All are inert to most chemicals and lubricants and have a temperature range wider than rubber or urethane.

All models in the TeMAX lines incorporate UV inhibitors to increase product life in outdoor environments.

The three distinct versions of the TeMAX bumper line give users flexibility to select widely different displacements for the same reaction force levels - 51 choices in the standard bumper lines.

Bumpers in inventory for immediate shipment include axial high-load models, ranging in energy capacity from 100 to 17,000 in-lb, axial low-load from 50 to 8,000 in-lb, radial from 10 to 1,000 in-lb and crane bumpers from 330 to 9,375 ft-lb.

In addition to off-the-shelf bumpers, EKI offers custom designs and prototypes with short delivery times. Free estimates and engineering assistance in sizing products to applications is offered along with static and dynamic load/deflection data sheets for each bumper.
