High Rise Dual-Barrier Strips Allow Wire Connections to Take the High Road

HARRISBURG, Pa - Jan. 27, 2006 - Tyco Electronics has introduced a new line of high-rise dual-barrier strips for PCB mounted applications. Molded to length with a .325 inch centerline, the BUCHANAN brand barrier strips feature a unique high-rise design which allows for space saving dual-level wire entry on congested PC boards. These high-rise dual-barrier strips provide captive screws in a wire-ready position and, in addition to the 2 through 16 positions available, can be equipped with various accessories, such as quick-connect tabs and jumpers. Further, the high rise dual-barrier strips meet the UL and CSA standards of 20 A, 300 VAC/DC while accommodating solid or stranded wire ranging from 12-22 AWG. Composed of a UL 94V-0 thermoplastic, its insulator body, along with the brass, tin-plated terminal, delivers an effective operating temperature range of -40°F to +221°F.

Mechanically, the high-rise dual-barrier strips have combination drive screws with #2 Phillips recess and standard slot.

These features make the Tyco Electronics high rise dual-barrier strips highly suited for use in a wide range of applications, including industrial controls, test equipment, HVAC, and power supplies.

High-rise dual-barrier strips are priced at $1.87 for a 10 position strip at the 1,000 piece quantity level.

For more information on high-rise dual-barrier strips, contact Tyco Electronics' technical support center at 1-800-522-6752 or send an e-mail to newproducts@tycoelectronics.com
