Designed for medical product applications, gun drill system offers drilling capacity of 0.030-0.375 in. dia and up to 18 in. depth. To maintain concentricity, system uses workpiece counter-rotation that allows variable speeds of 500-1,500 rpm, while drill can be variably controlled from 5,000-20,000 rpm. With provision for single spindle or 2 independently operating spindles, unit features 300 gal coolant system that delivers 6 gpm at 2,000 psi to spindles.

New Gun Drill Systems Drills Small, Accurate Holes in Surgical Stainless Steel
Kent, OH: TechniDrill Systems, Inc., a global builder of gun drills, ejector drills and BTA systems, has introduced a new gun drilling system that can drill highly accurate .030" diameter holes in surgical stainless steel.
Designed for fast and accurate drilling in medical product applications, this new system has a drilling capacity ranging from .030" to 0.375" in diameter and up to 18" in depth.
In order to maintain concentricity, the system uses workpiece counter-rotation and high speed drilling. The counter-rotation feature allows variable speeds from 500 to 1,500 rpm, while the drill can be variably controlled from 5,000 to 20,000 rpm.
A 300 gallon coolant system delivers 6 gpm at 2,000 pounds psi to the unit's spindles.
The new gun drill system can be provided with a single spindle or with two independently operating spindles for greater versatility.
