From Single-Axle to Tri-Axle Trailers, Hendrickson's New VANTRAAX® Delivers the Flexibility to Carry the Load
CANTON, Ohio- Hendrickson's new single-axle slider delivers all the advantages of the road-proven VANTRAAX® for a variety of refrigerated and dry van trailer suspension configurations.
Rolling off production lines in December, the VANTRAAX (HKANT 23K) provides a lightweight tapered-beam, 23,000-pound capacity system that delivers flexibility in axle spacing and enhanced load distribution especially on single-axle trailers.
Combine VANTRAAX single-axle systems for double the adjustability in tandem axle trailers, allowing axle sets from widespread to closed spaced, or use it as a third axle with a tandem suspension system for increased carrying capacity. However, the HKANT 23K is not currently approved for multi-trailer applications.
The single-axle model delivers all the same benefits haulers rely on from Hendrickson's VANTRAAX family, while trimming more than 200 pounds from comparable single-axle sliders on the market.
Standard with Hendrickson's Advanced Axle / Beam Technology(TM) (AXT(TM)), the single-axle slider teams tapered-beams and a large-diameter axle (LDA(TM)) for strength, durability and reliability. LDA increases the diameter of today's traditional axle to five and three-quarters inches, which reduces weight while maintaining component and system strength.
The single-axle VANTRAAX builds on Hendrickson's patented K-2® slider box technology and comes standard with high-strength, low-alloy main rails and K-braces for added durability and strength.
The tapered-beam design uses the high-performance TRI-FUNCTIONAL® III Bushing to deliver the same smooth ride as Hendrickson's other VANTRAAX models. Road proven over millions of miles, patented TRI-FUNCTIONAL III Bushings feature phosphate-coated inner metal for corrosion protection and a unique rubber compound for outstanding durability and ride.
The VANTRAAX single-axle comes standard with QUIK-DRAW®, Hendrickson's fully pneumatic, pin-pull mechanism to simplify slider repositioning.
For applications not requiring a sliding subframe, a "fixed-pin" option allows permanent setting of the rigid structure in a specific location under the trailer, eliminating the need for welding or bolting the box to the trailer frame.
Standard components on the single-axle VANTRAAX include the first standard trailer Cam Tube System(TM), which reduces S-cam maintenance; QUIK-ALIGN® for fast, easy, accurate axle alignment, and the industry's straightest axle-spindle assembly to help stretch fuel mileage and tire life.
Time- and labor-saving options include TIREMAAX® automatic tire inflation system, a wide selection of cost-effective long-life wheel ends, disk brakes and SURELOK® to help maintain trailer deck height at the loading dock.
