Iveco Motors Unveils Their Largest Diesel Engines To North America

Vector Family Offers The Most Powerful Engines In Production

CAROL STREAM, IL (January, 2006)- IVECO MOTORS of North America, Inc., a Fiat Powertrain Technologies (FPT) company, proudly unveils their Vector family of diesel engines to the North American marketplace. The Vector family consists of 8, 12, and 16-cylinder diesel engines with a horsepower range of 640hp to 2368hp and can be configured to meet any application in the industrial, marine and power generation industries.

"IVECO MOTORS' Vector family provides unbeatable performance for OEMs who need an abundance of power," says Vincenzo Perrone, General Manager of IVECO MOTORS of North America. "Since we entered the North American marketplace, IVECO MOTORS has introduced a diverse portfolio of powerful diesel engines that give our customers such benefits as fuel efficiency, emission and noise compliancy and of course, reliability. Our Vector family is no different."

The Vector family features a V-type cylinder configuration with 4-valves per cylinder. Unlike other engines in its class, the Vector family has total control due to its high-pressure common rail injection system. This system also gives the engines an excellent fuel consumption rate and unbeatable power, while still meeting emission regulations. The compact structured engines are turbo-charged, aftercooled and can be either an air to air intercooler or an air to water intercooler.

The Vector 8-cylinder has a displacement of 20L and has a gross power rating up to 1184hp, the Vector 12-cylinder has a displacement of 30L and has a gross power rating up to 1777hp, and the Vector 16-cylinder has a displacement of 40L and has a gross power rating up to 2368hp. Options available include: oil pan configurations, hydraulic fluid pumps, air compressors, air conditioning compressors and flywheels. Multiple gear-driven power takeoffs are also offered. Like all IVECO MOTORS' engines, the Vector family is compliant with current emission regulations and ready for future standards.

The activities of IVECO MOTORS of North America, together with all the other IVECO MOTORS activities around the world, converged in March, 2005 in the "Industrial & Marine" product line of Fiat Powertrain Technologies (FPT). The new sector of the Fiat Group integrates all the group's innovation capabilities and expertise in engines and transmissions.

IVECO MOTORS' engines are the result of over 100 years of engine traditions and offer the widest availability of customized engine build options. Headquartered in Torino, Italy, IVECO MOTORS is recognized as a worldwide leader in power train systems. With production of more than 430,000 engines in 2004, the company has nine plants and three research facilities dedicated to engines, located throughout Italy, France, South America and Asia.

In order to respond to the demands of the North American marketplace, IVECO MOTORS has operations in Carol Stream, Illinois, to deliver first class service throughout Canada, Mexico and the United States.
