Enviance Brings Compliance Data to the Field with Mobile Integration
New application gives field workers real-time access to critical data, streamlining compliance activities and improving data integrity
CARLSBAD, Calif., Oct. 5 /-- Enviance, the leading provider of Internet-based, on demand systems for the management of environmental, health and safety (EHS) compliance activities, today announced the general availability of a new mobile platform for compliance field personnel using handheld devices, such as PDAs or PocketPCs.
As one of the first providers of Internet-based compliance software, Enviance has enabled improved automation and coordination of environmental, health and safety obligations. With the availability of the Enviance interface via mobile computing platforms, personnel can monitor and act on compliance events in the field, in real-time.
Benefits of mobile access to compliance data include:
o Easier and simpler data entry for field observations
o Enhanced data integrity through real-time, paperless transactions
o Reduced site-time for field personnel
o Improved field documentation of agency inspection, incident and accident investigations, and materials release information
o Rapid identification of corrective actions taken in the field
PG&E's (NYSE:PCG) Environmental Support and Services team is an early adopter of mobile access to the Enviance System. They are currently deploying the technology for compliance assessments, regulatory inspections and materials releases.
"Implementation of mobile access to the Enviance System for our assessments and inspections resulted in immediate acceptance by field environmental specialists -- regardless of a user's technological comfort level," said Tom Wilson, Environmental Support and Services, PG&E. "Based on preliminary results, we're estimating that we will achieve up to a 10% efficiency improvement in field data management using the PDA system."
"With the launch of our mobility platform, Enviance is extending its on demand offer from the desktop to the field," said Lawrence Goldenhersh, President and CEO of Enviance. "Now streamlined data entry and automation of the compliance process is available in the palm of your hand - anytime, anywhere it's needed. Because many compliance activities occur away from the desktop, handheld functionality is a critical link in the compliance automation chain. For automating the last mile, Enviance, once again, is raising the bar."
Enviance's new mobile platform is available immediately.
