Small but Powerful, the Size 7 b maXX has an Impressive Power/Volume Ratio
Nuremberg. Another size has been added to the Baumuller group's b maXX range of frequency converters: The size 7 is impressive due to its extremely small dimensions and considerable power.
The new size 7 b maXX frequency converter from the Baumuller group is proof that you don't have to be big to be powerful. A completely new technical approach has been used for the new b maXX, which made it possible to keep the conductor rails short. The water cooling system that is used also contributes to reducing the structural size. In comparison to competitor products, the size 7 b maXX has a unique motor shaft power to housing volume ratio of 3.6 kW/dm³.
The size 7 b maXX is currently undergoing trials in test applications at customer sites. Series production of the frequency converter is due to start at the end of 2005.
The modular design of the b maXX series makes it possible for the drive system to be extended in accordance with requirements. The user can add new functionality to the controller using plug-in modules - such as new control functionality or additional interfaces. As far as hardware and software are concerned, the continuous platform makes the drive easy to adapt to requirements. The b maXX also makes it possible to access many different bus systems in automation applications: The field bus systems that are supported are EtherCAT, CANopen, CANsync, PROFIBUS-DP and Sercos. The controllers in the b maXX range are all parameterised via WinBASS II.
