This new tool combines a compact head with outstanding torque carrying capacity.
The new Proto® Ratchet will earn its keep anywhere that technicians need to turn fasteners in tight spaces, including the aerospace and high-tech industries. This precision tool packs ease of use and high torque carrying capacity into a compact design. It includes a small pear head that encloses a 45 tooth gear mechanism; the gears provide high torque-carrying capacity while maintaining an 8 degree articulation angle.
The ratchet's low-profile reversing lever makes it easy to use with one hand. A contoured, easy-to-grip handle features knurled bands for increased slip resistance.
The head has a patent pending sealed design that keeps fine dust from penetrating the internal components. The seal also helps keep lubrication inside the head, where it belongs. Full-polish, double nickel chrome plating provides corrosion protection to the outside of the tool. The tool is also available in a black oxide finish.
The Proto ratchet comes in 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" drive sizes. Where users require more leverage, they can get the 1/2" drive with a 15" long handle, instead of the standard 10.5" version. The tool is field repairable with an optional repair kit. Manufactured to ASME specifications, the ratchet offers the standard Proto® limited lifetime warranty.
