23 Gauge Pin Nailer Kit Gives New Meaning to the Words 'Attention to Detail'
NOVEMBER 1, 2005 - NEW YORK. NY - BOSTITCH announced today the introduction of its 23 gauge pin nailer kit - the model HP118K during a press conference at the Warwick New York Hotel. Designed for manufacturers of high-end furniture, case goods or custom cabinetry, this kit performs exceptionally well in detailed woodworking applications such as constructing picture frames, installing molding, decorative trim, and window beading.
The HP118K provides greater pin capacity ranging from 1/2" to 1-3/16", which is a 19% increase over competitive models. Designed for speed and convenience, the magazine adjusts to different fastener lengths automatically. Its side-load magazine houses up to 200 pins so the user can focus more on the work and less on reloading. The HP118K excels in applications where precise pin placement is a must. Its low-profile tip tapers down to the contact point for a clear line of sight from any angle.
The unit features an integrated high/low power control for setting pin nails precisely at desired depths conveniently without changing compressor settings. Its dual trigger acts to ensure a safe operation while the unit is in use. Touting over 60 inch-pounds of power, the HP118K can countersink 1-3/16" pin nails into a host of hardwoods including oak and maple. Moreover, the unit features an over-molded grip for maximum comfort with a rear exhaust that exits near the coupler to channel blowback out and away from the work.
Featuring a lightweight aluminum body for added durability, the pin nailer weighs only 2.3 pounds. With a height of 7.81" and length of 9.06", this unit maneuvers effortlessly into tight spaces. It accepts all standard 23 gauge headless pin nails.
The HP118K 23 gauge pin nailer kit includes the pin nailer, 1/4" quick coupler, a plastic carrying case, and 500 each of 1/2" pins, 3/4" pins, and 1" pins. The HP118K pin nailer kit is currently available on the market with an approximate retail price of $145.
3,000 packs of the BOSTITCH 23 gauge headless pins are also available in the following lengths: 1/2" pins (model PT-2312-3M) are expected to sell for approximately $6.99; 3/4" pins (model PT-2319-3M) are expected to sell for approximately $7.99; 1" pins (model PT-2325-3M) are expected to sell for approximately $8.99; and the 1-3/16" pins (PT-2330-3M) are expected to sell for approximately $9.99.
