Humidifier Automatic Flushing Timer, Model S-HAFT, is used to flush accumulated mineral deposits from central-system steam- and reservoir-type humidifiers. Unit may be programmed to perform 10-, 20-, or 30-sec flushes at 2-hr intervals, using total of 1.5, 3.0, or 4.5 gal of water per day, respectively. Painted steel body measures 2 13/16 x 2 13/16 x 2 13/16 in., and installation package includes 15 ft of 3/8 in. ID tubing as well as mounting hardware.

Skuttle Introduces a More Energy-Efficient, Programmable Flushing Timer
(Marietta, OH) Based on the premise that less can be more, Skuttle Indoor Air Quality Products has totally redesigned its Humidifier Automatic Flushing Timer, Model S-HAFT. The new unit is smaller and uses less water than its popular predecessor, yet is even more efficient at flushing accumulated mineral deposits from most central-system steam- and reservoir-type humidifiers. Frequent flushing-automatically rinsing the water pan with fresh, clean water-helps the humidifier operate more effectively, and reduces or eliminates the need for cleaning the humidifier's internal components during the humidification season.
Set at the Skuttle factory for twelve 10-second flushes per day, occurring in two-hour intervals, the installing contractor or homeowner can easily reprogram the Flushing Timer for more thorough 20- or 30-second flushes. (The two-hour cycle cannot be altered.) Even at the highest, 30-second setting, the new Timer uses less water per day than the former unit. Additional advantages of the redesigned Flushing Timer are that it uses minimal electricity, reduces water usage by up to 98 percent when compared to conventional flow-thru humidifiers and is quick and easy to install (usually within 20 minutes).
The painted steel body measures 2-13/16 inches high by 2-13/16 inches wide by 2-13/16 inches deep. The installation package includes 15 feet of 3/8-inch ID tubing plus mounting hardware and installation instructions. The table below indicates approximate water usage, based on laboratory tests conducted at Skuttle Manufacturing Company, completed in August 2005:
