With efficiency rating of 50-60%, Model SBM 1200M can cut thin metals, plates, sheet metal, medical stents, and silicon. Removable cutting head can be replaced with scanning head, doubling system's functionality. Plug-n-Play system is suited for medical device micro cutting applications, hydro-formed components, automotive frames cutting, and blank cutting. Lake Mary, Florida--PTG Industries announces a breakthrough in laser technology: the first ever laser cutting and marking system that utilizes a 1,000 watt fiber laser. This state-of-the-art technology has an efficiency rate of 50-60% and has superior beam quality. PTG's SBM 1200M is twice as efficient as CO2 cutting systems for general metal cutting. This system can cut a variety of materials, including thin metals, plates, sheet metal, medical stents and silicon.
Fiber lasers have recently emerged as a viable option for cutting materials. PTG's SBM 1200M fiber laser cutting system operates at a power level of up to 1,000 watts. Its spot size is 1/10 the size of a CO2 laser's, which permits greater detail and higher accuracy in cutting and marking.
