DE-STA-CO's Modular End Effector Tooling (MET) Suitable For All Material Handling Applications
Madison Heights, Michigan, September 27, 2005- DE-STA-CO's Modular End Effector Tooling (MET) is an optimal solution in flexible modular automation. The MET product line can be easily configured to meet a variety of material handling applications including packaging, injection molding, metal stamping, palletizing, and glass handling. Based upon a modular concept with accessories such as automatic tool changers, compliance devices, robotic adapter plates, vacuum cups and sprue cutters, any MET system can be reconfigured, re-used or interchanged between other units for maximum flexibility.
Although made of lightweight aluminum, the MET is more robust than typical systems built using T-nuts and aluminum square extrusions. It can be mounted to the robot in either end-mount cantilever style or a mid-mount configuration. Quick disconnect air and electrical ports let you switch between various tooling in seconds.
"The MET series is comprised of fewer components as well as being flexible, lightweight, compact, and easy-to-use," says president Jon Simpson, DE-STA-CO. "This line is representative of our commitment to design lean products that offer increased productivity to our customers."
MET features include:
o 360 degree positioning;
o Vision camera mount;
o 5 pin electrical connector option for manual tool changers; and
o Base mount tool changer with 4 air ports and air shut off or a flange mount tool changer with 4 air ports and air shut off.
DE-STA-CO will feature its MET product line at this year's ATExpo in booth #311. ATExpo is being held September 27 to September 29 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Chicago, Illinois.
