DC-AC Inverters suit evaluation purposes.

October 20, 2005 - Generic, off-the-shelf D Series Inverters, for CCFL-backlit LCDs, fill need for customers who require inverter right away for evaluation. With profile less than 9 mm, 2-lamp Model DLDS60J generates 6 mA rms into 350-550 V load from nominal 12 Vdc source and includes display-compatible connectors. Inverters operate from 0-70°C and include on-board PWM dimming.

ERG'S New "D" Series DC-AC Inverters Offer In-Stock Evaluation Units For CCFL-Backlit LCDs That Fit Most Panel Requirements

Endicott, NY, October 2005 - Endicott Research Group, the leading U.S. manufacturer of DC-AC inverters used to power the CCF lamps that backlight LCDs, has introduced the
D Series Inverter - a "generic" off-the-shelf unit for engineers who have an immediate need for an inverter for evaluation purposes.

"D Series inverters have been designed to fill a need for customers who require an inverter right away for evaluation," said Bill Abbott, ERG's Global Market Strategist. "If a customer calls for a specific inverter from ERG's LCD Module to ERG Inverter Part Number Cross- Reference Guide and it's temporarily out of stock, we can substitute the D Series equivalent inverter for evaluation. It will be the same size as the cross-referenced part, and it will fill 90% of the requirements out there."

Since D Series inverters are shipped from stock, customers can have them in a day or two, and if a few more units are needed for pre-production, demos, layout, etc., the customer can still use the D Series inverter. "When production starts to roll, we switch the customer over to a standard inverter part number under the normal lead times," said Abbott. ERG's standard lead times are 4 weeks, the shortest in the industry.

"ERG is well known as a provider of custom inverter solutions, but we have designed the D Series to provide a 'generic' type of inverter that can be shipped off-the-shelf to adequately meet the pre-production needs of most customers, whichever LCD panel they may be using," Abbott commented.

D Series inverters such as the 2-lamp Model DLDS60J (based on ERG's LDS Series inverter) feature a low profile (< 9 mm), with display-compatible connectors, and are designed to generate 6 mA RMS into a 350-550 volt load from a nominal 12 volt DC source. They are compact and lightweight, with operating temperatures of 0º - 70ºC, and include on-board PWM dimming.

D Series evaluation units are in stock. Delivery is UPS Ground (or overnight if requested). Pricing in production quantities for the DLDS60J is $12.70. For details on other D Series evaluation units, contact ERG.
