Helium Sniffer Leak Detector produces reliable results.

October 12, 2005 - Immune to careless or untrained operation, Protec P3000 features I-Guide operator-guiding mode that minimizes error by ensuring correct number of locations on each unit under test is checked and that each location is tested for predetermined minimum time. It offers multiple alarm functions and displays leak rates in refrigerant-equivalent leak rates, taking into account difference in fill pressure between helium and refrigerant charge as well as dilution of helium.

INFICON Protec P3000 Produces Reliable Results Even for Inexperienced Operators

Powered by Wise TechnologyTM for Low Cost of Ownership and High Uptime

Syracuse, NY -October 5, 2005: INFICON introduces Protec P3000, a helium sniffer leak detector using INFICON Wise Technology for increased levels of productivity and reliability in demanding production environments. Designed for easy and comfortable use, Protec P3000 is more immune to careless or untrained operation, minimizing operator errors and the potential for missed leaks. It can detect leaks from a greater distance from the leak location, and the sniffer tip can be moved faster. This high-performance leak detector provides dependable leak checking and lowers cost of ownership for component and pre-assembly testing of refrigerators, freezers, automotive air conditioners and similar products. Leak rates can be displayed in refrigerant-equivalent leak rates while taking into account the difference in fill pressure between helium and refrigerant charge, as well as the dilution of helium.

INFICON Protec P3000 uses innovative Wise TechnologyTM in a robust, reliable and maintenance-free sensor that provides more uninterrupted work time by eliminating filament changes and the need for a turbo molecular pump and its maintenance. A unique operator-guiding mode, I-Guide, minimizes operator error by ensuring the correct number of locations (for example, the number of joints) on each unit under test is checked, and that each location is tested for the predetermined minimum time. Multiple alarm functions make sure alarms cannot be overlooked.

Filter and sensor lifetime are extended in the Protec P3000 with the automatic standby mode, which stops needless intake of contaminants and helium into the sniffer probe while the unit sits idle. Protec P3000 monitors itself and notifies the operator of any trouble before any leaks can be missed. For maximum flexibility, the unit can be operated, after initial setup, via the probe display without access to the main unit. The built-in PRO-Check reference leak allows the operator to verify the unit is functioning properly at the production line at any time.
