Greenlee's Combination Drill/Tap Bits Go Metric

ROCKFORD, Ill. October 3, 2005 -Greenlee's Combination Drill/Tap Bits go metric. The new metric Drill/Tap is a combination drill bit that allows the end-user to drill, tap and countersink a metric hole in one motion, just as Greenlee's standard Combination Drill/Tap already does. This new product can be used by electrical, HVAC, plumbing, automotive and DIY end-users that need tapped metric holes in material 10 gauge or less. Greenlee is also introducing two new larger standard size Drill/Tap bits (5/16) and (3/8) to meet end-user needs when it comes to heavier metal construction.

"This new metric Drill/Tap will allow the end-user the option of having a cost-effective, time-saving means of drilling and tapping holes for their metric fasteners," said Brian Allison, product manager. This saves time, money, and frustration when the need surfaces for a metric tapped hole."

The Combination Drill/Tap Bit is made from high-speed steel to ensure longer life. It's designed to tap up to 10 gauge metal and has a high quality hex shank to ensure a strong connection to the drill chuck. The back taper beyond the tap helps prevent the thread damage from over-drilling. A quick change adaptor is also included in both metric and standard kits. The Combination Drill/Tap Bits are now available packaged individually or kits, in both metric and standard sizes. The kits come in a reusable storage case with space for additional bits.
