Elektra: High-Integration PC/104 Embedded CPU Offers On-Board Memory and Data Acquisition
2-in-1 Design Saves Space and Reduces Cost
Newark, CA., September 27, 2005 - Diamond Systems Corporation, a leading supplier of embeddable computer and I/O boards, today announced the availability of the Elektra high-integration embedded CPU with data acquisition. Elektra integrates a Pentium-II class CPU running at 200MHz, 128MB memory, Ethernet, and a professional-quality analog and digital I/O circuit with autocalibration onto a single PC/104 board. Linux, DOS, QNX, and Windows CE operating systems are supported. Elektra consumes only 5.5 watts and operates over the -40 to +85ºC extended temperature range without a fan. The board offers the key attributes of high integration, low power, and ruggedness required for today's demanding embedded computing applications.
Elektra's built-in data acquisition circuit provides high-accuracy, stable A/D performance with 16-bit resolution and programmable input ranges. A 512-sample FIFO and on-board programmable timer enable error-free 100KHz A/D sampling rate in any operating system. It includes 4 12-bit D/A channels, 24 programmable digital I/O lines, and two programmable counter/timers. All data acquisition features are fully supported by our Universal Driver software to simplify application development. The built-in autocalibration circuitry provides enhanced accuracy for analog measurements, reducing errors by a factor of 10 over competitors' manually calibrated boards.
Two configurations are available for Elektra: Model ELK200-EA-XT includes CPU plus data acquisition, while model ELK200-E-XT is the lower-cost CPU-only configuration. Both versions include 4 RS-232 ports, 2 USB 1.1 ports with USB floppy support, 10/100Mbps Ethernet, PS/2 keyboard/mouse, parallel and IDE ports, programmable watchdog timer, and on-board backup battery for real-time clock and BIOS settings.
Elektra also fits inside Diamond Systems' Pandora enclosure system to provide a compact, rugged, wall- or chassis-mountable industrial CPU. Pandora utilizes a unique cable-free I/O panel board to provide a rugged and customizable packaged embedded computing solution.
In quantity 1-9, the ELK200-EA-XT is priced at $750, while the ELK200-E-XT is $450. Volume discounts apply when purchasing 10 or more units. Both models are available now. For more information on this and other Diamond Systems products, call (510) 456-7800 or visit www.diamondsystems.com.
