October 5, 2005 - Featuring 32-bit PCI extension interfaces as well as PCI Express, 5.25 in. SBC83820 supports Intel® Pentium® M and Celeron® M processors with 400 and 533 MHz FSB, respectively. Mobile Intel® 915GM Express chipset supports PCI Express bus architecture and integrates graphics function and support for dual channel LVDS. Engineered with two 150 Mbps SATA channels, platform supports one 184-pin DDR2 400/533 MHz memory technology and has built-in dual Fast Ethernet ports.

Mainstream Embedded Board with Intel® 915GM chipset onboard designed for HMI and Control node

Taipei, Taiwan, September 20, 2005 -- AXIOMTEK, an Associate Member of the Intel Communications Alliance (ICA), a community of communications and embedded developers and solution providers, is proud to launch the 5.25" embedded SBC, SBC83820. This significant platform supports the Intel® Pentium® M processor and Intel® Celeron® M processor both at 400MHz and 533MHz FSB respectively with up-to-date frequency. It integrated Mobile Intel® 915GM Express chipset which increases up to 33% in Front Side Bus (FSB) bandwidth over the previous generation.

The Mobile Intel® 915GM Express chipset supports PCI Express bus architecture, a highly scalable general purpose I/O for the latest industry peripherals. The SBC83820 built-in dual Fast Ethernet ports in default and offered optional full speed Gigabit Ethernet which through one advanced PCI Express interface. The Mobile Intel® 915GM Express chipset integrates graphics function and supports dual channel LVDS for various embedded applications.

The platform supports one 184-pin DDR2 400/533 MHz memory technology which improves up to 60% in peak memory bandwidth and average power savings over traditional DDR memory. Its outstanding display features with dual LVDS, DVI, TV-out and CRT for dual contents and different resolutions for advanced applications. To support the future bus architecture expansion, the SBC83820 is not only with 32-bit PCI extension interfaces like PCI and Mini PCI, but also with PCI Express for three X1 high performance add-on cards.

AXIOMTEK's SBC83820 is engineered with 2 SATA channels as a hot-plug feature. The Serial ATA provides users an even transfer rate of 150Mbytes/second. The capacity will be doubled as long as customers utilize 300GB Serial ATA hard drives. The I/O features include CompactFlashTM Type-II with DMA mode support, three RS-232, one RS-232/422/485, Audio, one FDD, one parallel, one LPT, one IrDA, VGA connector, and 4 USB 2.0 ports.
