Two-Megapixel Machine Vision Camera Satisfies Demand for High Resolution Color

IRVINE, CA, September 20, 2005 Toshiba Teli America, Inc., the North American subsidiary of the Toshiba Teli Corporation, brings increased performance, simplicity and convenience to color machine vision applications with its new CS6940CL, a two-megapixel CCD camera (1600 x 1200) capable of acquiring 15 frame-per-second "full-frame" progressive scanned video.

Featuring the Camera Link(TM) open standard for image output and camera control, the Toshiba Teli CS6940CL is small (2.1 x 1.3 x 2.2 inches, W x H x D) and easy to integrate into virtually any color machine vision, intelligent traffic or industrial inspection system where space is at a premium. With the move today towards smaller automated assembly machinery on the factory floor, the compact CS6940CL is certain to appeal to design engineers.

The CS6940CL is based on a 1/1.8 type interline CCD with 2.11 total pixels and an RGB color filter that allows fine details to be resolved within a field of view. The larger format CCD offers increased sensitivity and dynamic range when compared to smaller format imagers. The camera's 4.4 µm square pixels also contribute to a faster, more streamlined interface with vision and measurement systems, providing for better computation of images.

The CS6940CL operates in three user-selectable readout modes: all pixel (15 fps, 1628 x 1236), partial scan (30 fps, 1628 x 552), and high-speed draft (48 fps, 1628 x 309). It comes equipped with random trigger shutter and multiple-shutter functions to assure the best possible images of fast-moving objects.

The Toshiba Teli CS6940CL is immediately available. For more information, please call 1-949-770-TELI (8354).
