Receiver Interface links Yellowjacket® receivers to PC.

Berkeley Releases Pollenator(TM) Desktop 802.11b Receiver Interface for Yellowjacket® Users

METUCHEN, New Jersey. - September 14, 2005 -- Berkeley Varitronics Systems, Inc., the leader in 802.11 Wi-Fi propagation analysis test equipment, releases Pollenator, an 802.11b receiver interface for Yellowjacket users.

Pollenator(TM) is an interface serving as a bridge between Yellowjacket® 802.11b users and BeeKeeper(TM) Wi-Fi 802.11b software for laptop and desktop PCs. The Pollenator(TM) solution allows Yellowjacket® users to continuously monitor (24 hours/day) all local 802.11b Wi-Fi networks from their desktop without having to purchase additional receiver hardware. The interface connects to the Yellowjacket® receiver via serial CF port and to any PC (Windows® 2000 / NT / XP) via USB and 10/KI0BASE-T Ethernet ports. Pollenator(TM) and BeeKeeper(TM) bundle is available now for $500.

BeeKeeper(TM) software monitors all 14 DSSS network channels as well as MAC, SSID, AP manufacturer, SNR, data rate and RSSI signal levels of any access point or NIC. User selectable scanning and log settings ensure that BeeKeeper(TM) will identify any unauthorized MAC and alerts the user instantly with audible buzzing and time-stamped log file onto any desktop or laptop PC. Vital information such as RSSI, client card manufacturer and SSID are captured and may be used to identify neighboring 2.4 GHz interference, WI.AN interference and even nearby client cards trying to wirelessly "hack" into the network. In addition, APs can be traced from the local NICs they are connected to allowing users to view the network transparently. Unlike NIC based analyzers, Beekeeper(TM) is a passive, network independent hardware & software package with the ability to see the "whole picture" wirelessly without being seen or detected by anyone on or off the network. BeeKeeper(TM) software is controllable via any PC's serial or ethernet port allowing RF surveys to be performed all from your desk. BeeKeeper(TM) software v. 1.0 is shipping now with update shipping in Q4 2005.
