Thomas & Betts Xtraflex® Type B Conduit in Reels Reduces Waste

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - September 21, 2005 - In order to reduce waste for larger-quantity applications, Xtraflex® Type B Conduit from Thomas & Betts is now available on reels in lengths of up to 1,000 feet, in addition to 100-foot lengths packaged by carton.

"If the conduit comes in 100-foot lengths," Senior Product Manager Craig Yoss said, "what happens if someone needs to cut 80-foot lengths? They end up throwing away 20 feet from each run. The 1,000-foot reel enables the user to cut only the length needed. It also saves space, because one 1,000-foot reel takes up a lot less space than 10 boxes of 100-foot lengths."

Xtraflex Type B Conduit is a smooth, non-metallic conduit constructed of polyvinylchloride (PVC) and is UL and CSA listed. When used with Thomas & Betts Bullet® Liquidtight fittings, it is rated NEMA 6P submersible. Sunlight and oil resistant, Xtraflex Type B Conduit is recommended for a variety of industrial applications, including machine tools, motor connections, food processing equipment, wireway extensions and control console wiring. The smooth surface of the inner diameter facilitates wire pulling.

The conduit sizes available are 3/8-inch in gray, packaged in 500-foot reels; 1/2 inch, in gray or black, packaged in 500-foot and 1,000-foot reels; and one inch, in gray or black, packaged in 500-foot reels.

All Xtraflex® Type B Conduit in reels is marked in one-foot intervals for quick and easy measuring.
