Flexiscope Demonstrates Portability and Flexibility at BBC
Stand 9.511, IBC2005: Flexiscope from test and measurement specialist Hamlet has been selected by BBC Scotland. The Flexiscope is a compact, palmtop, pda-like device, yet provides comprehensive waveform and vector monitoring on an all-digital platform. Both the BBC's main centres in Scotland, in Edinburgh and Glasgow, now have Flexiscopes as part of their engineering resource.
Jim Neale, technology services co-ordinator for BBC commented "We were looking for something that was readily portable, especially in Edinburgh where we work on multiple sites. The kit we were replacing was trolley-based, which is definitely not portable, and our engineers are really pleased with the Flexiscope's convenience and flexibility.
"The range of measurements we can make is comprehensive and gives us excellent technical information about the signal quality," he added. "As well as accurate digital video fault-finding and checking, the Flexiscope also supports embedded audio, this was a vital a requirement for us with our current system installations."
