Federal Signal UniStat® Now Available With Improved Electronic Design at a Lower Sell Price

UNIVERSITY PARK, IL, August 25, 2005""Federal Signal is proud to re-introduce the UniStat Status Indicator""manufactured using the most innovative engineering technology available. Federal Signal's team of engineers and technicians continue to lead the industry with the development of an improved circuitry design and LED array for the UniStat. This technological advance provides for unparalleled production efficiencies and savings allowing Federal Signal to reduce the selling price by almost 50%. In addition to the customer-friendly price and improved technology, the UniStat can now be fitted with a sounder module for added flexibility in work areas where visual and audible signaling are critical to providing employees with the highest level of safety.

The UniStat can produce up to four colors from a single light source""amber, blue, green, and red""while offering vibration resistance and 100,000 hours of service from the lights. In addition, this unique status indicator offers a choice of four visual flash patterns - steady burn, slow flash, strobe flash, and SimuStobe(TM). SimuStrobe simulates the attention-getting flash rate of a strobe light but with much more color-rich output. By manipulating the wide array of colors and patterns, the user can choose a total of either 12 or 16 possible flash/color combinations, depending on whether he has a three- or four-color model. The product is PLC compatible, making it ideal for use in automated processes, and programmable via remote access.

The UniStat is protected in a durable polycarbonate housing. Because it is made of tough, glass reinforced thermoplastic, the fixture will never corrode and the reinforced mounting feet are the strongest of any nonmetallic fixture available. Each unit arrives pre-assembled ready for surface mount or integrated ¾" pipe mount. Available in 24VAC/DC and 120VAC, NEMA Type I (updated UL pending).
