Electric Driven Gas Boosters operate contamination-free.

September 16, 2005 - EDA Series eliminates oil migration in applications using all inert gases. Design includes separation and only requires cleaning in order to use it for oxygen service. With inlet pressure from 750-2,600 psi, products provide max outlet pressure of 5,000 psi. Dual-stage configuration permits higher gas flow rates with inlet pressures as low as 450 psi. Able to start under load, products feature 1.5 hp electric motor as standard, pressure gauges, and variable pressure setting controls.

Electric Driven Gas Boosters Reduce Cost and Eliminate Contamination

New models from Haskel complement range of air driven boosters

A series of electric driven gas boosters from Haskel offers contamination-free operation at lower cost and smaller size than metal diaphragm compressors. The new EDA Series eliminates oil migration in applications using all inert gases including nitrogen, helium, argon, CO2 and air. The booster's design includes separation; therefore, only cleaning is necessary in order to use it for Oxygen service.

Applications include pressure maintenance, gas scavenging and recovery in facilities using a wide range of bulk specialty gases, such as plastics manufacturing, air conditioner manufacturing and remanufacturing, offshore oil and gas platforms, and hospitals.

With inlet between 750 and 2,600 psi, the boosters provide maximum outlet pressure of 5,000 psi. They are also available in a two-stage configuration that allows higher gas flow rates with reduced inlet pressures (as low as 450 psi).

Unlike compressors, the gas boosters accept a pressurized inlet, allowing them to start under load. The non-lubricated linear bearing assures minimal contamination to the gas, with no need for separation during processing or conditioning afterward. A gas seal package allows simple maintenance.

Standard features include inlet and outlet pressure gauges, automatic shut-off switch, variable pressure setting controls, gas safety valve and service duty monitor.

Electric motor specifications (Voltage, Phase and Hertz) can be specified with order; standard power is 1.5 HP. IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) and explosion proof motors are also available.

Haskel International is a world leader in the fluid power industry, manufacturing a complete line of air amplifiers, gas boosters and liquid pumps for general industrial applications. Its products are also used in the oil & gas, defense, aerospace and automotive markets. The company is a subsidiary of Milton Roy, a division of Hamilton Sundstrand and United Technologies.
