Make your Serial Device Wireless-Ready: LS100W

LS100W Wireless Single port Serial Device Server
$179.00

Sena is pleased to release the wireless serial device server, "LS100W" that connects RS232 serial devices such as printers, scales, medical equipment, manufacturing machinery, barcode readers, card readers, point-of-sale equipment, and other data acquisition devices to a host computer via an 802.11b wireless LAN.

On the serial side, the LS100W features a nine-pin male DB-9 connector, 9-30V DC input, and supports data transfer speeds up to 115Kbit/s. It uses standard 64/128-bit WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) protocol to protect data being transmitted over a wireless LAN network.

The LS100W supports both infrastructure and ad-hoc (peer-to-peer wireless networking) operation modes. When working in infrastructure mode, the LS100W transmits serial device data to the host PC via an access point. Ad-hoc mode provides a full-duplex serial exchange between serial devices through the LS100W and without using any access point.

In addition, the LS100W supports COM/TTY drivers for Windows and Linux systems, ensuring that existing PC software will still work when used with the new wireless LAN infrastructure.
