NVIDIA nForce(TM)4 SLI(TM) Technology Supercharges Powerful New Dell Desktop PC

New Dell XPS 600 Is World's First to Feature NVIDIA nForce4 SLI X16 MCP and Two NVIDIA(R) GeForce(TM) 7800 GTX GPUs

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Aug. 8 -- NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA), a worldwide leader in graphics and digital media processors, today announced that the new Dell XPS 600 desktop PC features NVIDIA nForce4 SLI X16 Intel Edition technology and award-winning GeForce 7800 GTX graphics processing units (GPUs). Today's announcement marks the first time that Dell has used a chipset enabling dual graphics in their product offerings.

"The introduction of the new Dell XPS 600 with our new NVIDIA SLI X16 MCP validates SLI technology as a new gaming standard for enthusiasts," said Jen-Hsun Huang, president and CEO at NVIDIA. "There is no better endorsement than having the world's largest PC maker include our latest technologies in their flagship product."

Leveraging the power of the newest addition to the NVIDIA nForce4 SLI Intel Edition media and communications processor (MCP) family -- the NVIDIA nForce4 SLI X16 MCP allows Dell customers to configure their Dell XPS 600 with up to two GeForce7-based GPUs, both running in dedicated dual x16 PCI Express slots for the ultimate in graphics capability and future expansion.

John Medica, senior vice president of Dell product group, added: "Our new Dell XPS 600 provides customers with the ultimate gaming and multimedia experience. Dual graphics and NVIDIA SLI technology set new standards of how gaming machines should be configured, built, and played on."

As one of the leaders in PCI Express product development and deployment, NVIDIA architected the new NVIDIA nForce4 SLI X16 MCP to provide a total of up to 40 configurable PCI Express lanes for use with high-performance graphics solutions and other PCI Express-based products.

The NVIDIA nForce4 SLI X16 MCP supports all current and future PCI Express graphics cards. The dual 16-lane PCI Express slots provides a gaming platform that will be primed to handle the next-generation games that will saturate the PCI Express bus with increased textures and high-resolution images. Alternatively, the second x16 PCI Express slot can also be used with other PCI Express-based products, such as dual tuner cards and networking communication devices that can take advantage of the additional bandwidth provided by the dedicated x16 bus.

The XPS 600 starts at $3,099 and is available for online ordering directly at www.dell.com/xps. As part of Dell's product unveiling, the Dell XPS 600 will be on display for hands-on game time at id Software's QuakeCon 2005 event, being held at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, Texas from August 11th to 14th.
