New Suite of Software Delivers Protection Against Employee Theft
LAS VEGAS, Aug. 8 -- SmartConnect, a leading provider of video-centric business intelligence solutions for casinos, restaurants and retail, today announced the launch of Casino Vision, a new suite of software products that includes Casino Vision Point of Sale (POS) and Casino Vision Case Manager. The Casino Vision product line is the only enterprise-wide solution that enables casino management to proactively manage and evaluate multiple areas of a casino that are at a high risk for employee fraud or theft by using a single software system.
The Nevada Gaming Commission reported that from 1999 to 2000, over one third of those arrested for theft or cheating in casinos were the casino's own staff members. SmartConnect's Casino Vision POS and Casino Vision Case Manager enhance traditional surveillance methods by synchronizing video with data streams mined from POS systems to create detailed, customized data reports. Potentially fraudulent activity such as manager overrides, coupons or comps, or a cash drawer being open for too long, is tracked and the corresponding video surveillance can be searched by transaction. Data reports and streaming video, both real-time and stored, can be accessed securely on a PC or handheld device via a Web browser.
SmartConnect's Casino Vision Case Manager software allows users to preserve video with the corresponding POS data and add comments and text to specific incidents. An unlimited number of video clips and comments can be added to each case and the data can be stored to a hard drive so it will not be deleted during the system's standard archiving/purging cycles. Access to cases is based on permission levels and all activity tracked in a case history.
