Impatica Brings Full-Featured PowerPoint Viewing to the BlackBerry(R)

PowerPoint on Your BlackBerry the Way It Was Meant to Be Seen

OTTAWA, Aug. 8 -- Impatica Inc., an industry leader in the delivery and viewing of PowerPoint presentations over the Internet and wireless networks, today announced the immediate release and worldwide availability of a significant enhancement to RIM's popular BlackBerry wireless communications solution. Impatica for BlackBerry Enterprise Server expands the functionality of the popular BlackBerry wireless e-mail solution by enabling enterprise level BlackBerry subscribers to receive and view full- featured PowerPoint e-mail attachments on BlackBerry handheld devices.

"According to analysts' reports, RIM controls close to 80% of the global corporate wireless e-mail market and their clients depend on their BlackBerry service for receiving critical information while out of the office," said Tom Wheeler, Past-President of the CTIA and a Director of Impatica. "Without Impatica's solution, BlackBerry subscribers could only view the text portion of PowerPoint attachments. Now, they can experience the full visual impact of this ubiquitous presentation tool."

Impatica technology makes it possible for BlackBerry users to view PowerPoint presentations that feature rich text, images, charts, graphs, animations and slide transition effects. Users have the ability to navigate forward and backward between slides, zoom to magnify important text and graphics, or revisit a presentation even without wireless coverage. To further ensure a seamless viewing experience, presentations are automatically sized and oriented to fit the target BlackBerry screen.

Impatica for BlackBerry Enterprise Server is an enterprise software product that easily installs behind the customer's firewall alongside the BlackBerry Enterprise Server(TM) (BES). It integrates with Microsoft(R) Exchange, IBM(R) Lotus(R) Domino(TM) and Novell GroupWise(R) e-mail servers and enables PowerPoint viewing for all BlackBerry subscribers associated with the BES.

"The core technology for this product is already in use by thousands of corporations, educational institutions and government clients, including Citigroup, Johns Hopkins University and the US Department of Defense," commented Michael Doyle, CEO of Impatica. "We're now capitalizing on that investment to bring PowerPoint viewing to the wireless world."

Impatica for BlackBerry Enterprise Server is available from more than two- dozen distributors and strategic partners around the world and from Impatica directly. A free 30-day evaluation copy is available from the Impatica website at www.impatica.com.
